650 full-time job offers made on the first day of a placement program

At the Indian Institutes of Technology, the placement season has started for the upcoming academic year 2022–2023. IIT Delhi also began its campus hiring process on December 1, and by the end of the first day, 650 full-time job offers had been made, of which about 550 were original choices, including more than 250 pre-placement offers (PPOs).

More than 50 students have accepted offers from within India with CTCs over Rs. 1 crore. About 20 students have received job offers from abroad from countries like Hong Kong, Netherlands, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, United Kingdom, and the United States. Some students have chosen to accept domestic offers over those from abroad.

Over 800 job descriptions across several sectors are currently being offered by over 400 national and international organisations that have registered to hire students.

Numerous placement offers have also been made to several students. Over the prior year, there has been a 20% increase in the number of job offers received.

American Express, Bajaj Auto, Boston Consulting Group, Enphase Solar Energy, Intel, Praxis Global Alliance, and Strategy& were amongst the top recruiters on day one.

This year, hiring procedures can be carried out virtually or in person, depending on the convenience of the recruiter. The placement period spans from December to May.

As it is a dream of many Indians to get into the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), which are ranked among the top institutions in the world. IITs are considered as Institutes of National Importance by the Parliament of India.

How to get into IIT?

Step 1: Appear for the JEE (Main) examination.
The entrance examination is conducted after 12 boards, students choosing Science stream can apply for it.

Step 2: Appear for the JEE (Advanced) examination
Candidates who qualify JEE (Mains) examination by securing high marks above cut off list are eligible to apply for JEE (Advance).

Step 3: Obtain an All India Rank (AIR)
Candidates after getting 10% marks in each of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (on all questions on a subject in Paper I and II) and 35% marks in aggregate of the three subjects will be considered for the ranking.

Step 4: Allocation of seats at the different IITs through a common process by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA)
