As the JEE Mains 2023 examination dates clashes with board examinations
The National Testing Agency (NTA) published the yearly test timetable for 2023-24 to avoid postponement and cancellation of national-level exams this year. Students have voiced worries because the Joint Entrance Test (JEE Main 2023) exam dates clash with CBSE Class 10 and 12, pre-board examinations, and practical exams.
Students have asked the NTA to postpone JEE Main 2022 session 1 scheduled for January, as well as to abolish the 75% criterion for eligibility to appear in engineering entrance examinations.
According to the JEE Main 2023 brochure, admission to BE, BTech, BArch, and BPlanning programmes at NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs participating in the Central Seat Allocation Board would be based on all India rank, with the condition that students have obtained at least 75% in their Class 12 exams. SC and ST applicants must have earned a 65% or above in their Class 12 or qualifying examination.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic’s influence on education, the NTA abolished this criterion as a one-time measure for JEE Main 2022 applicants. Several students have requested that the JEE Main 2023 tests be held in April, citing the fact that droppers will not have enough time to study for the exam. Registration for JEE Main 2023 for the January session has begun at jeemain.nta.nic.in.
Taking the suggestions into account, the NTA declared that the JEE Main 2023 tests will be held in two sessions: January and April. Nonetheless, a group of students has asked for the January JEE Mains 2023 tests to be shifted to April.
The CBSE will be conducting practical examinations for Class 10 and 12 on January 1, 2023. Pre-board exams for Delhi government schools have begun. The Delhi pre-board examinations, which started on December 15, will last till December 28, 2022.
The CBSE Board also stated that the CBSE Class 10, 12, and 13 examinations will commence on February 15, 2023, and revealed the subject-wise mark distribution. The CBSE Class 10 and 12 exam dates in 2023 are scheduled to be revealed shortly on the official website, cbse.gov.in.
