The Illinois Institute of Technology (Illinois Tech), a premiere institution of technology based out of Chicago, shall become the first U.S. university to receive UGC (University Grants Commission) approval to establish an independent degree-granting campus in India. The campus will be established in Mumbai and is expected to start operations in fall 2026.

Location and Timeline: The campus will be located in Mumbai and will enroll students for its first batch in 2026.
Programs Offered: The Mumbai campus shall offer demand-based undergraduate and graduate courses in computer science, engineering, and business.
Curriculum and Faculty: In line with the academically rigorous, experiential, and industry-aligned curriculum, the students will be taught in the same way as at Illinois Tech’s Chicago campuses. Faculty will comprise a world-class international line-up of professors, including visiting professors from the U.S., as well as professors with global credentials.
